I want the mixdown to end after the last clip. For example, I record a 2 minute song, mix it down and its 2 minutes 30 seconds because it adds 30 seconds of silence at the end. When exporting a session as a Multitrack Mixdown, it also adds any blank/silent space at the end of the session. Penetrating oil is a tool for the extreme optimist. The lever should move smoothly and easily, not requiring much force before a stone touches, then force on the lever is the grinding pressure. If my guessing is right so far, then you are setting the stones too low if they both contact the blade at the same time. When you lock the adjuster in place at a good height, the blade should be roughly centered in the gap between the stones. The knurled knob looks like the height adjuster for the stones. Think of it as a teeter-totter with a centering spring. The way the lever is arranged, my guess is that there is a spring that holds the shaft in a "neutral" position and that the direction the lever is pushed determines which stone touches the cutter blade. So I will go out on an extremely risky limb here and make some guesses from the photos. Everything from semiautomatic pistols to racing engines. I know nothing about slicers but I have been working on little machines all my life. Can't find anything on this slicer since it is soooo old. Only way to actually grind the edge is to have it in the utmost position when the truing stone doesn't hit.Īny help would be greatly appreciated. Notice the freshly ground blade about 3mm from the actual edge. Does anyone have any ideas on a remedy for these two things? And it doesn't look like it works well at all unless both the grinding and truing stones are hitting the blade. If I only lower the grinding stone to just when it hits the blade about 3mm then the truing stone like like an inch from hitting the blade. When I sharpen with the stones it is sharpening the blade about 3mm from the actual edge as shown in pic below if I lower it enough to hit both the grinding and truing stone. The sharpening assembly unit is at the wrong angle or the blade was custom sharped to a new angle. Was thinking of applying heat but don't know if that would damage anything or even help.Ģ. kroil then lube hasn't made it much better. Any ideas at all how to make that level less resisting? It seems like the resistance is in the sprint area or beneath it where the 2 metal plates combine. Not something I'm too pumped about while a 12" blade is spinning 4 inches from my hand. Its to the point its functional but I need to put some real pressure on it to go. The lever to press is really firm no matter how much I kroil/lube it. These are pics before I cleaned up the bodyġ. Two things I can't figure out is the sharpening assembly and is making me a sand panda. So I got that old berkel gc from like 1960s all cleaned up enough for now and working (I'll probably give it a paint job in the spring). Gimmicky as it may have seemed at the time, even “Make Her Say (I Poke Her Face)” has weathered the ravages of time remarkably well. Whether or not he’s ever reached those heady heights again may be up for debate, but MOTM retains its luster a decade after it first descended like a meteor from the outer reaches. Upon its arrival in 2009, Kid Cudi’s major label debut Man On The Moon: The End Of Day felt less like a conventional album and more like the birth of a new superstar. I heard Bar was friends with Esti Ginzburg I’m in the car with Leo and the Benz swerve Although Cudi’s declaration that other “other n****s copy, I’m the image” feels like a broader epithet for his whole career, Kanye’s advances towards a fleet of supermodels and remarks about cruising with Dicaprio epitomizes the hedonistic life that the track’s title refers to. But no-one was outshining Kanye during a name-dropping spree that rivals The Game at his most boastful. Whilst it was an immensely exciting time in hip-hop overall, one of the undeniable peaks came in the form of “Christian Dior Flow.”Īwash in the sort of sweeping grandeur that was a calling card of Ye at the time, this star-laden track has no shortage of highlights - including a typically stellar verse from Lloyd Banks. Like clockwork, a new song would emerge every week- with the exception of the hare-brained artistic alchemy of “Runaway Love” with Justin Bieber and Raekwon arriving on a Monday- and set the internet alight. More than capable of acting as the perfect aural accompaniment for one another’s material, the anniversary of Kanye’s Wyoming spree of records seems like a fitting time to examine who’s got the bragging rights over their collected catalog.įor any long-serving Kanye devotee, there’s no way to replicate the thrill of the unknown created by the G.O.O.D Friday series. Lauded for its therapeutic honesty and sonic experimentation, the album still feels as fresh today as it did upon its release on June 8th last year. Don't ever mention my name in a bad manner, none of y'all."Ī mere 6 days later, Kanye extended the olive branch to Cudi, declaring him to be “the most influential artist of the past 10 years.” An accolade that could arguably be assigned to either men, it would take a further two years until the two would lay every last remnant of ill feeling to rest on their collaborative project Kids See Ghosts. Kid Cudi, we are two black men in a racist world. The next day, Kanye hovered above the crowd at a Saint Pablo tour stop and unloaded his retort in his protégé’s direction: Sparked after what seemed to be an amicable split from his “big brother” Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music stable, a series of crossed wires and subtle prods would soon escalate to the point where Cudder verbally eviscerated Kanye on Twitter over what he saw as disloyal behavior in September of 2016. In the case of Kid Cudi & Kanye West, there was a muddied period where errors in communication and onstage barbs made it seem as though they’d become another one of those formerly fruitful teams. So the answer is, that it is not possible to set ID's for MenuItems at the moment. The Id you set in the Backend gets overwritten again in PrimeFaces Class BaseMenuRenderer, encodeEnd() with generateUniqueIds(.) How does Brighter3D stand apart from it’s competition?ī3D uses unique noiseless progressive technology. I think it is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, CPU renderer on the market. It is completely integrated with SketchUp and works totally internally. You just set up light power as an integer value.īrighter3D is a fast and easy to use photo realistic rendering plugin for SketchUp that creates images without noise from the beginning. Brighter3D does not use Units in user interface for simplicity. You can also zoom in/out preview and pan it. Brighter3D allows you to see the object as it will appear on the final image. The problem is when you render it, it looks totally different from the preview. Other programs use box or sphere and one or two point lights. What is new about this is that it shows a live preview on real objects, with real lighting conditions. Because of that users are not intimidated from the start, but have access for advanced settings if they need it. When you decide your material should reflect anything, additional settings are shown like roughness, fresnel and metal. For example when you open material editor you see only color settings and 3 sliders (diffuse, reflectance and transmissivity). The main idea is to hide all user interface as long as you do not need it. This happened after I saw the first iPhone presentation by Steve Jobs, I was totally shocked. My second goal was to create as simple user interface as possible. I started to study all the existing noiseless rendering methods and eventually created my own. My idea was not to create another bi-directional path tracer, my goal was to create a correct, noiseless solution. Even when they supported progressive rendering, the preview they created was totally unusable (there were literally holes in the images because of the noise). The one thing that especially frustrated me the most when using them was the noise. 18650 batteries can have anywhere from 300 to 500 charging cycles, which is insane! It usually takes about 3 hours to charge a 18650 lithium-ion battery fully. These batteries are not only used in flashlights, but also in: power tools, electric vehicles, vaporizers, cameras, laptops, and more! A High Drain battery basically means the battery gives out a larger amount of current than regular batteries. They get their name from their size: 18mm by 65mm. 18650 batteries are lithium-ion batteries. Have you heard of 18650 batteries? I stumbled upon and learned they use a specific battery in many of their lights. Needless to say, that has caused much safer batteries to be produced. Can you overcharge a lithium ion (Li-ion) battery? Yes! I do not know if you guys remember, but a few years back in 2016, there was a period of time when Samsung Galaxy Note7 phones were exploding! They were exploding because of a defect in the phones tied to the lithium ion batteries. Can you over charge a lithium battery? No, you cannot because they are not rechargeable. In the midst of my online search, I learned that lithium batteries are not rechargeable, but lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are rechargeable. Which, if you think about it, lithium ion batteries are still relatively new and evolving each year. Lithium-ion batteries were first invented by an Exxon chemist called M. Crazy right? Not only that, but there are rechargeable and non-rechargeable versions. These batteries help power a wide variety of products from cell phones to Hybrid Vehicles. Did you know there are several different varieties of Lithium ion batteries? For example, Lithium-Manganese Oxide, Lithium-Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide, Lithium-Iron Phosphate, Lithium-Titanate, and Lithium-Cobalt Oxide. However, the two did not always peacefully coexist. Conversely, the memorial makes an excellent vantage point for panoramic views. Roosevelt spoke of Jefferson, who "faced the fact that men who will not fight for liberty can lose it." The memorial provides an ideal backdrop for the blossoms, which according to Japanese culture are best experienced when a temple compliments the scene. To symbolize the war's principles, the original Declaration of Independence was displayed at the dedication ceremony during which President Franklin D. The current bronze statue was installed in 1947. Because metals were considered critical to the war effort, the original statue was cast in plaster and then painted bronze. Started in 1938, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial was completed in 1943, during World War II. By 1890, the reclaimed land rose above the "high tide" stage and the Tidal Basin gates were completed and tested. This tidal driven action gives the pond its name, "Tidal Basin." The outflow of water through the channel flushes silt from the marina located there, reducing the need for further dredging. The gates would allow the pond to fill from the river at high tide and then empty through the Outlet Bridge into the Washington Channel at low tide. The genesis of Inlet Bridge dates to 1887 when engineers began to install gates at the entrance and exit of a newly formed pond. The silt and mud placed behind retaining walls created 723.4 acres of new land upon which many of our memorials now stand, including Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, and World War II memorials. Inlet Bridgeįollowing the disastrous 1881 flood that covered parts of the National Mall, the US Corps of Engineers began to dredge the Potomac River in order to improve navigability and reclaim land. See the trailside sign for more information about pagodas. Specialists from the Smithsonian Institution assembled the pagoda based upon other examples. In 1957, it arrived as a set of disassembled pieces packed in five crates and was unfortunately devoid of any assembly instructions. 1600, was dedicated on April 18th, 1958, a gift to the city of Washington from the Mayor of Yokohama, Japan. For more detailed information about the memorial, pick up a brochure by the bookstore. Also consider how the landscape architect, Lawrence Halprin, tells a story simply through the design of the water features. As you enjoy this unique setting for viewing the blossoms. This may be the most artistically complex of all the memorials due to the narrative use of the waterfalls. First Lady Helen Herron Taft, a key figure in the acquisition of the cherry trees, planted the first while the Viscountess Chinda, wife of the Ambassador of Japan, planted the second. It is here that the first cherry trees were planted on March 27, 1912, in a very modest ceremony. See the trailside sign for more information. As a gift to the United States from the Governor of Tokyo, the lantern stands as a symbol of Japanese American friendship and is lighted during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Its twin in Tokyo continues to honor warlord Tokugawa Iemitsu. More than 350 years old, this ten-foot tall granite lantern was dedicated on March 30, 1954, the 100th anniversary of Commodore Matthew Perry's opening of American trade with Japan. r/tabletopgamedesign: All things related to designing tabletop RPGs, wargames, board, and card games. r/gamedev: All things related to game development, programming, math, art, music, collaboration. If you're confused about what game designers do, "The Door Problem" by Liz England is a short article worth reading. It's about the theory and crafting of mechanics and rulesets. Worst of all, this rulebook that fails to completely teach the game contains tips for roleplaying your game, which is fine if that’s what you’re into, but it needs to do its job first.Game Design is a subset of Game Development that concerns itself with WHY games are made the way they are. Even with the examples, there are important rules and situations where the wording is vague enough to be open to multiple valid interpretations. It’s smattered with helpful gameplay examples, but there are some rules that only appear there. I’d liken it to board gaming’s necronomicon, as you need to be prepared to glean anything from it, but even then it may drive you insane. It’s never a good sign when there’s a megathread on the BGG forums for rules inquiries and clarifications. The general shallowness of gameplay and advertised play time suggest that this is a light filler game, but the uniqueness that would be a boon to a deeper game make the teach so lengthy and cumbersome to prevent that.Īnd let’s talk about the rulebook. Unfortunately, the poor graphic design and cheap components that the latter crowd would gloss over won’t pass muster with hobbyists. Right off the bat, you should know this is a gamer’s game, with how much it depends upon familiarity with modern board game mechanics, but the marketing and Bond anniversary sticker suggest it’s for the more casual crowd. Well, there’s SPECTRE in a nutshell, but if the meat has interesting and unique components, the overall presentation is of a game with an identity crisis. Finally, players are handed out numbered titles according to their placement on the Spectre track, each with increasingly powerful abilities as a player is further behind. Importantly, each of the 8 spaces are tied to an area for area majority rewards that are doled out every round.Īfter everyone has placed their pawns and the mission has been resolved, the current leader rolls the Bond dice to decide where he shows his face, either visiting a player personally, making one of their powers more expensive to unlock, or a region of the board, wiping everyone’s agent cubes there and preventing use of the action space in the upcoming round. The main board’s action spaces feature a bevy of rewards, including agent cubes for area majority, resources for unlocking new features on your player boards, and even advancement on the Spectre track, functionally SPECTRE’s VP. Afterwards, players take turns placing their villain and henchman pawns, either on the shared main board or on their asymmetric player boards to unlock and activate powers. SPECTRE is such a game, with its intriguing blend of mechanics that work as a seasoning around the core protein and starch of area control and worker placement.Įach of the game’s 7 rounds starts with revealing that round’s mission card, a semi-cooperative objective mix of board state and resource bidding that will reward the player that contributed the most and punish everyone if not fulfilled. Every now and then, a game comes around that is so mechanically unique and interesting that I have to make room for it in my collection regardless of how good it actually winds up, if only to just show it off to other hobbyists. |
